It is the most representative attraction in Busan, so much so that it is the first place that comes to mind when thinking of the city, and it is also the destination that draws the largest domestic crowds, serving as a measure of summer vacation visitors each year. In particular, large and small buildings and luxury hotels stand prominently along the coastline, making it famous as a beach with a modern and sophisticated atmosphere, so it is crowded with youthful energy not only during summer vacation season but throughout the year and is well known to foreign tourists, drawing many visitors from abroad. Haeundae Beach hosts a moon-viewing festival on the first full moon day of the lunar new year each year. Additionally, the polar bear swimming competition held annually in winter has already become an established winter representative festival. Beyond this, various events large and small are held, including sand sculpture exhibitions and the Busan Sea Festival. Furthermore, there are many sights to see in the vicinity of the beach, including Dongbaek Island, Oereokdo, an aquarium, a yacht racing venue, and Baekmatchil Pass at BEXCO. ◎ Travel information for encountering the charm of Korean wave – This is the place where the drama character Nam-soon created the Chinese characters for "sea" with shells on the sandy beach together with her Mongolian mother and enjoyed time taking photos together.
