Songdo Beach
송도
Located 3 km from Busan's Jagalchi Market, Songdo Beach is the first bathing beach to open in Busan, in 1913. From 2000, it underwent renovation work for approximately 5 years, during which the diminished sandy beach was expanded and fountains were installed, transforming it into a seaside park. The surrounding area includes a fish market and Namsan Park. As the bathing beach area first developed in Busan in 1913, Songdo is connected to Namsan Park, an urban natural park opened from military protection status in April 1996, and Dudo Park, famous for sea fishing. The area is notable for its dense primeval forest, naturally preserved rock formations, quiet seascapes with Busan's symbol the seagull and distant Yeongdo in the background, creating a spectacular view. The vicinity is equipped with various accommodations and dining options, and convenience facilities such as a cloud bridge, walking paths, a boat rental station and a car park are well established. Namsan Park on the Songdo coast is a coastal ecology park with an observation deck offering views of both the Songdo coast and Busan's South Port, a 3.8 km walking path, and cafés and sashimi restaurants lining the roadside. In Bumin-dong 3-ga, Seo-gu, Busan, there is a Temporary Capital Memorial Hall that served as the presidential residence for 3 years when Busan was the temporary capital during the Korean War. Songdo is thus located at the southern end of the Janggun Peninsula in Seo-gu's Namsan-dong, having experienced such turbulent history.

What it is for
One of the country's oldest public beaches, in a sheltered cove west of Nampo. Two headline add-ons: the Songdo Cloud Trails, a curving seaside skywalk over the water, and the Songdo Bay cable car across the cove.
Pair the beach with the skywalk and cable car, and combine it with a Nampo market day.
