Jangsaengpo Whale Culture Special Zone

The Jangsaengpo Whale Culture Special Zone is a whale culture hub established in the Jangsaengpo area of Nam-gu, Busan. As a sea area where whales have inhabited since prehistoric times, it is the only tourism special zone in Korea where visitors can comprehensively experience history and culture related to whales. Within the special zone, exhibition and experience facilities focused on whale ecology and whaling culture are concentrated. The Jangsaengpo Whale Museum, a flagship facility, displays diverse relics including whale skeletons and whaling tools, while the Whale Ecology Experience Center is Korea's first dolphin aquarium, offering a space where visitors can directly observe the daily lives of dolphins. Additionally, to promote whale culture tourism, the zone operates the Whale Sea Journey, Korea's only whale exploration cruise that departs from the East Sea off the coast of Ulsan. The Jangsaengpo Whale Culture Special Zone illuminates the relationship between whales and humans, establishing itself as a marine culture space where ecology, education, and tourism converge.
