Jujeon Pebble Beach

Jujeon Pebble Beach, one of Ulsan's Twelve Scenic Spots, is a representative summer beach destination favoured by Ulsan residents. Jujeon means "red earth," and the land has a reddish hue. Mongdol refers to smooth, rounded stones without sharp edges. Along a 1.5 km stretch of coastline following the East Sea, smooth black pebbles measuring 3–6 cm in diameter are arrayed along the shore, creating a scenic vista. The beach features numerous rock formations such as Nolang Rock and Saetdol Rock. Additionally, the sound of waves at Jujeon Pebble Beach is one of the Nine Sounds of Dong-gu. The national highway that runs between the mountains and sea forms an excellent driving route, and with many attractions nearby, the beach has also gained popularity as a winter destination.
